Butterfly Exhibit at Springs Preserve
Springs Preserve located here in Las Vegas, offers a butterfly exhibit, weather permitting, in the fall and spring. It’s really unique in the fact that they set up a small enclosed building where the butterflies are housed. They have very secure doors as you enter so the butterflies don’t fly out of the space as guests enter the space. Once you enter, you can walk around to see all the gorgeous, graceful butterflies as they go from plant to plant. You’ll also be able to learn about the different types of butterflies as you walk through. This would be a great educational opportunity for grade school children. There are lots of different butterflies there that you’ll get the opportunity to see. The varieties are from Central and South America, USA as well as some that are native to Nevada. My favorites were the Blue Morpho, Banded Orange Longwing, Tiger Swallowtail, Monarch and Painted Lady. It’s truly fascinating to watch them and you never know, you may be fortunate enough for one of them to land on you. 🙂
